i have a 89 formula , auto, the problem is, the drive gear if put in initally like you would after being in reverse , you can hear the car change gears but it acts like its in nuetral, dont work nor does second , but if you put it into 1st, it will work , then you put in second , still works, and so on. also no matter what gear its in when you come to a complete stop it will seem like it falls into nuetral again , and youll have to put it back in first to regain froward motion. fluid is full by the way

 

Sounds like the Low Roller Clutch is bad. When you put it in D3, the Overrun Clutch comes on to aid the Input Sprag, so it isn't that and when you put it in D2 you get higher pressure so it isn't a Forward Clutch slip but when you put it in D1 the Low/Rev comes on and aids the Roller Clutch.

 

what should i expect to pay to have this fixed , thanks alot
