Transmission Mount?

The other day I was driving and I downshifted from 2nd to 1st then floored it and I felt and heard a noise right by my arm rest. Now when I try to floor it in any gear I get the same feeling and noise. I'm assuming it's the transmission mount, just need some reassurance.

20+ year old rubber mount. If it doesn't need replacement, it will.

Re: Transmission Mount?

how did it screw up your tranny. BTW i got an energy suspension mount and it is about a 3/4 of an inch taller, is it supposed to be that tall? Also when i put it in i had to pry the tranny back over so it was in proper alignment.

Re: Transmission Mount?

Just curious, but does both the T-5 and auto take the same tranny mount? I got a 88' and I was planning on either using Energy suspensions or Prothanes one thats why.

Re: Transmission Mount?

I have an 86' trans am with a 305 H.O. 4bbl with a 5 speed. I Think a similar thing happened to me. From a stop I burned out through 1, 2nd, and 3 Gear and I felt somthing bump the floor when I floor it. How easy is the fix? Is there a stronger replacement. Oh and a side thought I have heard that my car is rather rare. With is also being a ws6 and a borg & warrner trans and axle. Is this True???
