Noise and shake in rear right side..wheel bearing

Hey Guys,

I took my Trans Am to get a front end alignment and possibly brake job done yesterday.

They told me the brakes were in great shape and said the "shudder" when applying the brakes is coming from the right rear side...and is a wheel bearing going out. I noticed a whine at high speeds too.

I have the rear drum set-up and was wondering if anyone has ever replaced this bearing and can direct me to something with pics?

I have a factory shop manual, just wanted something to give me some direction before I start.

I tried to do a search, but there isn't a thread I could find that "stands out" addressing my issue. I did find this...anyone have anything else?

Thanks

Disassemble the rear as posted in the link other than the brakes . You only need to remove your wheel and drum and axle to get to your bearing and seal .

Thanks!

Anyone have a napa, advanced, o'reilly, Autozone, or GM part number handy for the bearing(s) ?

As mentioned in the link, inspect the axle itself for wear. You may require a new axle or at the very least an axle saver-type or off-set bearing.
