700R4 shift KIT question

Just Completing Shift kit

How Do you get the snap ring back into the transmission case on the passagener side of the transmission, that holds the cover down for the pistions and Springs?

I tried for 4 hours?, is there a special tool?

Which Shift kit are you using? If you are doing it right (as per instuctions) then there should be no problem. If you need help, give me a call at 800 7763288and I will do what I can.

instructions just tell you to remove the snape ring holding down the out board piston cover. The ring came off in a half a second with a screw driver, getting it back on is the trouble

It can be tough to get back in and I use the factory tool! Have you set the clearance as per instructions? IF you hve too many shims it won't seat. Get a big pry bar to push the cover in. You may have to center a small socket on the cover to get clearance to work. Whatever you do, maike sure that any corrosion or rust is out of the case and be sure the snap ring is seated. I have seen covers blow out and sometimes break the case.
