O.K., I did something wrong. I want to make sure I don't do it again so could use so confirmation from the experts. I installed the clutch slave and master cylinder kit. After installation, I pressed on the clutch pedal and the rod connected to the pedal bent, in addition the clutch fork got jammed into the bellhousing. I finally unjammed it after pulling the tranny(now need a new clutch fork because the metal spring on it broke -crap!). Best as I can tell this cylinder kit doesn't need to be bled because it's sealed (bought it new from G.M.). I think I screwed up in the order I installed the components. I first installed the clutch master cylinder and connected the pedal, afterwards I installed the slave cylinder to the bellhousing. After consulting a manual, I find I should have done it in the opposite order. Now I have a new cylinder kit and just want to make sure I won't have any problems and that installing the components in the wrong order was the reason for this small disaster.
Thanks in advance...

The reason for the order is so you don't screw up and press the clutch pedal in with the slave unmounted.
If you're smart enough not to do that, you can install in any order. Hell, I've had my slave on and off about 15 times by now trying to fix the damn thing.

The thing is, I never applied the clutch pedal until the slave was mounted, only after. Anyone know what happened?

My guess, the clutch fork not seated on the throwout bearing. Just did the cnversion and did not have any problem, we installed the master first and then the slave.

I think you are absolutely correct. Any recommendations on how to seat the clutch fork all the way? How did you get it completely on?

I'm not sure. I'm looking for a good photo of the clutch fork myself because I think mine might be put on wrong as well.

Mine slid right in. I should have taken a couple of pictures while mine was out. I know we slide mine out to the furthest stop and then when it was all together, it slide right on and seated fine.

Its been a while since I did the conversion, but I seem to remember my clutch fork needed to be pushed in until it clicked or locked. Not sure if that makes since or not. Almost like you could put it in loose and but needed to give it a bit more to lock in place. Maybe yours was not all the wai in??
Just a thought.

i had this same thing happen to me with my t56 install. my fork got jammed on the bellhousing and had to pry it out with a screwdriver. i didnt push the fork up to the throutbearing enough. you think you do but half the time it is not enough. for futher t56 installers, have a second pair of eyes look at these kinds of things when trying them for the first time.
