Corrvette torque convertors
Anyone have any info on them or a place where I can read up on them. I know that the main differance between the stock camaro one and the vette ones is that the stall is higher.
Reason why I am asking is that my tranny needs a rebuild (damn cooler line for the externial cooler popped off and drained al the fulid). I cant really afford to get a Vigialate or a Yank like I want. I dont like B&M tc's at all. So if ya got a name for a good tc arround 200-250 dollars let me know!
Thanks.
Kat

The vette converters stall at +- 1800rpm
Your tranny shop should be able to cut your converter open and weld in new internals to get up to 2600rpm</font>

I know a couple of people that have them in their cars and I've driven them both. I gotta say they are sweet converters.

MY tranny/vette vertor stalls at 2200 if the rear brakes (POS Disc!) hold. It was installed in 1991 with a NEW tranny and the owner opted for the extra $13 for the vette vertor over the stock TA one.
I thank him everytime I drive the car!

As far as I know they dont have a web page but I do have a phone #. 973-872-0903
How I found out about the converters was from Dan Burke (ws6transam). From what I remember he recommended them to a guy Bill Davis(IROCZ4BD3) and Bill ordered one.. Well with a 305, 2500 stall and 3.73 gears he got a 2.010 60 ft on it last week at Atco, NJ
here is some more info that I found on Dan's website
