loose c clip

I was changing my rear end lube and I found a u shaped thing stuck to the magnet on the cover. I'm wondering what this is for and what do I do with it? It looks like the c clips are in place so I don't know what this is from.Unless a previous owner left it in there on accident.

Re: loose c clip

umm..that keeps your axle from flying out the axle tube if it's your c-clip...which is the only U shaped item inside the rear....put that on quickly before you even consider driving again.

Re: loose c clip

if that was what was stuck to the magnet, that's not good..but if both are installed..maybe someone left an extra floating around inside?

Re: loose c clip

If you have one on each axle then someone left an extra in there.
