I know this has been asked many times but here's my ordeal. I have done many hours of searching. But my results have left me nowhere.
i have a 82 z28. The T5 is a non world class. it has the 7 tooth speedo drive gear. My rear gear ratio is 3.42 tires are 275/40/17 (25.66 tire height). my problem is when i installed the 19 tooth white gear the is for 3.42's my speedo is way off like 20 mph. I used to have a Red 21 tooth and the speedo was reading exactly 15mph slow. what is the deal with this. I'm about to drive myself nuts trying to figure this out. I don't want anymore speeding tickets.
