Okay guys, this is an update as of 08/27/2013. I changed my email address and forgot to update my account. I still have the rear end in my garage - I didn't have the heart to scrap it. So it's still available. The axle still has the factory tag on it, which should allow us to verify the build date, but it came out of a 1989 Trans Am for sure. Feel free to message me if interested. I paid $1,000 for the rear end back in the mid-90's for a Camaro project, but I ended up not using it. So it's been sitting ever since. I can provide more photos if necessary.

I have an M78 Borg Warner Australian rear end for sale that's been sitting in my garage for over 10 years. Left over from a hot rod project. It's originally from a 1989 Trans AM TPI Automatic. Don't remember the mileage or engine size - but I'm pretty sure it was a 350. Axle is 3.27 gear ratio with disc Brakes. Includes master cylinder, calipers, discs and 2 torque arms. It's rusty, but has been inside the whole time, so it should clean up okay. Axle seals are leaking and will need replacement. Will not part out, but am willing to deliver locally or crate and ship by truck. I can post more pictures, if need be. Asking $450 or best offer + shipping.

 

I realize this post was 3 years ago now but is there any chance you still have the rear end? Ive been searching for over a month now looking for a rear end for the camaro i bought due to the fact that mine is shot. If you could please reply to this post and let me know i am very interested in buying it

Looking for places to cruise in Syracuse region.. I know Erie BVLD used to be a hot spot, I goto Fulton Sweet Inspirations occasionally, and farmers market other than that, is there anywhere else

 

Thats not a 89 rearend he has for sale. Its a 88 and older because the brakes are the poopy screw piston type from the mid 70s to 88.

 

Is it disc or drum? And how much are you trying to get for it?

 

Thompson road is the number one spot i know of at the dunkin doughnuts on Friday nights members of Syracuse Street Machines hangout there and we have esta it's a drag strip but I'm not sure were it is can't remember but I can find out if you want. But those are the two big spots I know about and Erie BVLD like you said but I don't go there

 

Awesome glad you said something because I probably would have gotten screwed even if I was just Gunnar try and take the carrier out and use that but I'm guessing this won't work at all so thank you

 

If your just using the guts (carrier and gears) you'll be fine.
