ok..heres the deal guys..i have an 82 transam..original 305 with 4 speed stick shift.ive since converted to 406 cube sbc and th700r4 from an 87 formula 350.problem is...my speedo was cable driven..and my new 700r4 has electronic hookup for speedo..heres the question..lol.
i have an 89 v6 firebird,with a t5 5 speed tranny...is there a way to swap the instrument cluster from my 89..into my 82..and have the speedo work?..without alot of eletrical modifications?..if not..how can i get my speedo working? id like to use the one out ov my 89..becuase it at least goes to 120..and the 6k redline 8k max tach is better suited to my motor...any ideas?

no..my new 700r4 has an electronic speedo hookup..my speedo is cable driven therefore it wont connect.what i was wondering was...since the speedo in my 89 v6 is electronic..and my 700r4 has electronic hookup..if theres a way to use the 89s guage cluster.
It would be ALOT easier if you got a the speedo gear and the little housing to go with it for lets say a 89 Camaro and that would enable you to use your stock setup. The cable setup. Otherwise you will hve to change out the entire dash wiring or cobble up your existing one to make it work.

============ no.... you don't understand. The electronic speedo stuff can be removed from the newer trans and the old style of gear driven parts installed on the newer 700 trans.
