can anyone give me a little help with changing a tranny mount? is there anything special i should know...any weird bolts, other parts i have to take off to change it...i just dont want anything unexpected to pop up while im doing it...

there is not anything really unexpected on changing the tranny mount. theres 2 bolts on the top of the mount that connect to the engine and one on the bottome of it connected to the crosmember. when i changed mine all i did is jack up the car and put a jack under the transmission to hold it up and took of the cross member (three bolts) and unscrewed the 2 bolts on the transmission that are connected to the mount and it come right out. it is very simple and takes basic tools

 

Well, you can also get the mount off without pulling the entire crossmember off. You have to use a jack to jack up the transmission after you remove the nut or bolt that goes through the crossmember and the two bolts that secure the mount to the transmission. At that point the old mount can be removed and the new one slipped in. Be sure to get all of the bolts and/or nuts started before you lower the transmission all the way back down on the new mount to make sure they all line up and thread in correctly. Nothing to it really........
