Re: T5 rebuild...

a 4.10:1 rear with the T5's 2.95:1 first is a good match. But if you're wanting a first gear ratio closer to 2.5:1, you can get it. G-Force used to sell them, they may still. The next most likely source would be Astro Performance. But be aware that it's cheaper and stronger to go to a T56 from a '95-'97 Z28/Formula/TransAm.

ahhh ok, the 2.95 ratio is stock rite? acutally with all my parts with the clutch, bellhousing, slave, master etc etc, itd be easier to get the ls1 t56 and use the adaptor plate and extended pilot bushing that they make

Re: T5 rebuild...

There should be parts to make it a 2.75 first gear.

Personally, I'd go with the 94-97 2.66 first gear LT1 T56 as I like the Valeo pull clutch.

Re: T5 rebuild...

IDKhis keeps resurfacing, but no T5 ever left the manufacturing plant with a 2.75:1 first gear. Maybe it was a typo, but it sure isn't real. 2.95:1 is as tall as they ever came.
