T-5 V6 to V8 conversion kits???
I am dropping in a 350 and heard about a T-5 conversion kit that takes it from a V6 to V8. Is there any truth to this rumor and if so would it be worth it? Also would it stand up to the additional torque from the V8? Or should I just get a T-56 and be done with it?

Its possible, you would need a v8 bellhousing and a v6 clutch. but IMO it wouldn't be worth it because the 10 spline input of the v6 trans wouldn't hold up to the power of the 350. Even the V8 t-5 are not reputable for holding up well to the power and torque of a 350.

I Would suggest at the very least find a v8 T-5, World Class if possible. Or if you you have the money just go to a T56 and not haveto worry about breaking.

Speedway Motors sells a 1" x 14 spline clutch disc that's 10-1/2" dia, PN# 910-15649 for $69.99. There is also the Advance Adapters disc that Summit sells, PN# ADD-716104 for $117.95 (might be an old price)
Input shafts on the V8 T5 and the V6 T5 both neck down to the same dia, so i doubt that the V8 input is much stronger than the V6 version. Gear ratios are different, but that works for some. Lower 1st gear ratios can really wake up a car w/ mileage freindly rear gears.

So if I combine the spline clutch disk with the adapter disc from summit it should hold up for a while? I checked out the spline clutch disk and it says it for a ford, does that matter or not really?

It says ford in the Speedway catalog because they use the disc to fit a V6 T5 behind a flathead.
It's a complete 10-1/2" clutch disc w/ 1" x 14 spline hub. fits the T5 input shaft and a normal 10-1/2" pressure plate. All you need is...
...V8 T5 bellhousing
...Speedway disc
...slight trimming of V6 input shaft's pilot length (usually too long)
...may need to machine down the outer dia of the V6 T5's front bearing retainer to fit the pilot dia of the V8 bellhousing (quick 5 min job at a machine shop, or you can send it to me and i'll do it for free, just the cost of return shipping)
