THM350 Boost Valve Sleeve Question

Hey guys, I am in the process of rebuilding my first transmission, a Turbo 350, that will go in my 82 Trans Am. I had to buy a replacement boost valve sleeve from Sonnax as the original was damaged. Here's my question - all the other sleeves slide into the valve body fairly easily, but I had to lightly tap the boost valve sleeve with a hammer to get it in place. It's in, but my question is - is this situation OK with it being so snug in the valve body? If it is, I'd rather address it now instead of when it's all back together and something goes wrong!!

Thanks,
Joe

Re: THM350 Boost Valve Sleeve Question

First, make sure that there are no high spots in the bore. Second, take a file to the boost sleeve for any high spots. Some sleeves do go in a little hard, so this is not a problem.
