T5 Questions..

Not your average T5 questions either...

Next spring I'm going to be installing my 320 HP/300 TQ 3500 V6 (FWD block) into my '89 RS. I've been exploring trans options and narrowed it down to either a 4L60E from a '98+ V6 4th gen or a T5 from a 98+ V6 4th gen. 98+ because it has the correct metric bellhousing pattern and the starter hole is on the correct side for the FWD block.

I'm well aware of the T5's reputation behind V8's but am looking for opinions about using the newer unit behind a healthy V6. I shift between 6500 and 6700 RPM with the current Muncie 282 (FWD trans).

From my research i've found that the newest WC units should be able to handle this sort of useage with the use of an aftermarket shifter assembly with adjustable stops.

My main concerns are..

1. How well does the T5 handle high RPM shifts? (6500+ RPM)
2. Any known synchro problems?
3. Any fitment issues when using the 4th gen trans in a 3rd gen (700R-4 stock)?

Thanks for any help.
