nv4500 or 4l80e?

so i blew up my 60e today. been working on putting gears in my buddys jeep all day and finishing up my exhaust. finally finished my exhaust up by about 9:00, ready to head out to wendys for some dinner and i gave it a little juice, the trans flashed up and ever since all the drive gears are just like neutral pushed it to a nearby parking lot and my bro towed me home.

Yeah, you silly, silly boy. This is NOT Third Gen related. You technically have a FOURTH GENERATION.

LOL, don't mind me, I couldn't resist.

Anyway, automatic, or manual? Automatic.. A 5 speed, and 4.56's don't mix when it comes to city driving, or even highway driving. It would most likely start to bother you. You mentioned it won't be a daily driver, so if not, definitely go with a manual, if that's truly what you want.

What would I choose? A built 4L80E!

Full manual shifts, I'd like that, even though I'm more of a manual guy. Which reminds me, I need to get some money together, and go junkyard hunting for a T-56.

4.56 gears mean nothing... 35" tire keep in mind. same final drive as about 3.73s on a stock size tire really, maybe a fuzz taller.

Well excuse me, I didn't see tire size mentioned. If that's the case, I'd definitely go manual, but it's up to you. This thread will most likely be locked, or deleted anyway.

Are you a member of any other forums? Truck Forums is a decent one, I've browsed threads on there for a while, just for something to do.

I'm not by any means giving you a hard time, or trying to, but the mods are pretty strict. They usually delete off topic threads within an hour, if not, sooner.

I personally couldn't care less what someone drives, since I consider myself a true American car guy. I don't care if it's a Stang, Viper, Vette, I like all cars and trucks.

My only point is, the mods get pretty upset over the non Third Gen related vehicles, even though it may have the same exact drivetrain, which I do not understand. Simply because there are people here who drive everything from Hondas, to BMW's. I believe there should be small exceptions.

im on this forum because im into tuning, this is the place to go for that. i fit right in in the tuning section, i dont mention my vehicle, just my ecm # and my drivetrain and the mods dont get mad lol. i mention iv got a pickup truck and my thread gets threatened to be deleted.

anyway, back on topic. i posted this on the truck forum and everyone tells me to get the automatic... they make it seem as if its silly to want a manual, i dont get it, hot rods have manual transmissions. iv always wanted one. iv never driven one on a daily basis, so im doing this swap in hopes that ill like it i guess, i dont know why that's so insane, everyone used to drive manuals weather they liked it or not, its not like im making a life or death decision here. it seems like a no brainer, more hp, stronger and more reliable, and i may even pick up a mpg. am i looking at this wrong, is a manual that big of an inconvenience? has everybody given up on manuals?
