Swapping turbo 350-400
Swapping turbo 350-400
Hi i have an 82 camaro Z28 and I just got a sbc 350 rebuilt and a rebuilt turbo 400 transmission. I'll be ready in 2 weeks to put in the whole works with my dad but a few things i need straight before going ahead is:
1) Crossmember Compatibility
2) Driveshaft length
3) electric kickdown
My original transmission was the stock 200c then in 86 or 87 the original owner swapped it for a turbo 350 at shop so i'm not sure if its the original crossmember although its in the stock place. i measured the transmissions and from the end of the driveshaft they are within 1 inch of the same length i think, i could be wrong its not easy getting under my car/jacking it up in the snow. the electric kickdown isn't required from my understanding, am i right? although i do want one if it could wait a few days that might be easier. as far as parts for the kickdown im not entirely sure what my options are...
Any help or suggestion would be very helpful, especially if you've done this before
Thanks
