9 inch pinion offset question

Just picked up a 9 inch rear. It is the correct length so I don't have to shorten it. I did notice however, the pinion is offset 2 inches to the right (passenger) side from the overall center of the housing. Is this going to cause any problems running with that amount of offset?

Thank you for the answer. I didn't think it would but before I started ordering parts, I thought I would check.

Re: 9 inch pinion offset question

The Chevy rear end has the pinion offset 1/2 inch to the right from center, which means that the pinion is one inch closer to the right end than the left. If you have enough clearance in the drive shaft tunnel for the amount of offset that the Ford has then it will be all right. If the drive shaft is going to hit the side of the tunnel then you need to make some modifications.

Re: 9 inch pinion offset question

Thank you for your response as well. I believe the only clearance issue I might have is with the exhaust. I can fix that..
