B&M ATF
i don't know if this is the right place to post this or not, but if not let me know please. thanks. Has anyone ever tried using the B&M ATF? i have a B&M shifter in my auto, it came with the car when i got it. i found this B&M trans fluid at auto zone, and drained all the old stuff and filled it with this. is it safe?
The guy at autozone said it should be safe...he got kind of excited and said he never saw it before but if he had a B&M he would deffinitely use it

.. say it ain't no myth, it's fact in my book.... older transmissions for some reason, if they are not kept up on regular fluid changes have an allergic reaction to new fluid, why? Well as far as I have read, new fluid carries with it fresh detergent agents which are utilized by the transmission to keep the transmission lubricated and clean... all this stuff all of sudden gets cleaned up and leaves you with a boat anchor for a transmission... If you had a recently built tranny then you should be fine...
... I have less than 10K miles on my tranny and will most likely begin the transition to Royal Purple... better heat transfer or something like that...
... It's midnight here, what else you expect

Re: B&M ATF
tranny will begin to slip, engine will rev really high... shift points will be off... some people (off site) have sworn than changing out their fluid to regular fluid fixed their slipping or non engaging problem, but hmmm...

well...i don't think its slipping..but sometimes when i shift, it takes a minute to actually do the SHIFTING part lol...the engine doesnt really rev high..unless you mean my rpm's are higher than normal but I'm going slower than i should be for that particular RPM. I have noticed that. besides that i just have a loss of power. (big time) but i have plenty of other posts about that i guess.

the revving part, I mean you're at a stop then step on the gas and the car barely moves, eventually it catches and shifts, the RPMs drop down ... may want to take it to a transmission shop, they typically don't charge for a check up... at least the ones I've dealt with here ...

well..its sort of always done that since i got it, but only in first gear. i thought it was just the way the shifter worked. but, a free check up sounds great. no harm there...unless i find out my transmission is bad.but either way free is a good price to pay to find out. ill check into that tomorrow since i'm off. thanks for all your help so far.
