Re: 4 speed manual swap to th350

Check out the engine swap forum and read up one some V6 to V8 swaps

The early 3rd gen 4 speeds were nothing to write home about. A few top trim level cars got the Super T-10, but those were uncommon. Most were about as strong as the old saginaws of years past. Nothing to write home about

So you've got a 6" TH350

Find a longer DS from an 82-83 200R4/TH350 or have a truck DS cut down to your length

As stated above, you need a different driveshaft.

Re: 4 speed manual swap to th350

This is the one I have. You have to find someone like Spohn that makes a driveshaft for a 82-92 F-body with a short tail TH350 or measure and have a drivline shop make one for you.

http://www.spohn.net/shop/1982-1992-...hort-Tail.html

From what I understand, the driveshaft from a 82 and I think 83 f-body with a factory 200-r4 will also fit but you might be searching for a while to find one, so I personally wouldnt even waste my time. I also wouldnt want to deal with a nearly 30 year old driveshaft.

Re: 4 speed manual swap to th350

The drive line doesn't need to go all the way in. It should have a nice seal though. Just make sure you can move it up and down. I believe the drive line still goes in like 3" in.
