Car: 1988 trans am
Engine: 305tpi
Transmission: 700r4
700r4 problem
Hey guys,86 305 TA with stock 700r4.Went to leave this morning and it will not shift out of first.Wsa fine last night,and it seemed to idle much higher this morning.Checked tv cable at TB.end,is hooked up,fluid ok,didnt see any broken vac lines.Any ideas off hand Thanks Allan

The governor may be sticking, or the gear may be "apple cored". Pop off the rusty 2 1/2 inch diameter cover on the drivers side of the transmissin to remove and inspect.
