auto to stick

I did my search and saw its fairly doable but with two kids I dont have the space or time.
Im looking for prices. ANyone had a shop do the conversion and does hawks sell a whole conversion kit or do I have to part everything together? We are about 70$ an hour for labor where i live. thanks in advance.
If a 6 speed is somehow easier to find and not too much more expensive that would be cool.

Re: auto to stick

a location would help, and maybe post in the appropriate regional board.

hawks sometimes has the complete swaps, maybe minus the shifter plate, but you would still want a new flywheel clutch and pressure plate

Re: auto to stick

The 6 speed swap is a little more involved (although not bad), reqires a few more new parts, and it EASILY more expensive. It's a MUCH stronger transmission though.

Check the classifieds. T5 swaps, with pedals and hydraulics pop up all the time. If there's not one today, check back in few days and you'll find one.

...as for cost, I can't help ya there. I did mine myself.

I used to charge $500 labor when I owned the shop.

Too bad the T56 doesn't index by a center hub. My lakewood scatter shield has plenty of room to drill a 2nd bolt pattern.
