I just swapped out my 700r4 in my 85 trans am for another 700r4 taken from a suburban(not sure the year. Everything is identical, I used the linkage from my transmission but now the shift cable is about an inch too short to reach the linkage. I can't tell any difference between the 2 trannys so this makes absolutely no sense to me. If anyone is able to help me at all I would really appreciate it.
