Oh man, that's ugly. That hurts. I shouldn't have clicked on that before breakfast...

Yes it's a Saginaw. It is the ultimate trash. But you've been driving it so you already knew that.

Yes you can put a T-10 in it. All you have to do is get one out of a 82 Camaro or Firebird. Should just jump right up into there. No other T-10 will work because it won't have the torque arm provisions. You might even still be able to get a decent (which would be, NOT stock, and NOT a "Mr Gasket") shifter for it, from Hurst.

Doesn't look like it... look at any 3rd gn trans, look how the torque arm mounts, that hasn't got it

Re: is this a saginaw?

Yeah that's bad....

But what's WORSE is, your car is probably worth $1000 less with that transmission in it, than it would be if it had the T-10 in it, and probably $300 less than if it had an auto maybe more, since it would have been a 200C). IOW, that transmission DEVALUES your car in a big way.

Just a thought.

I hope the new one wasn't another Saginaw?

Re: is this a saginaw?

I paid 900 for the whole car the engine sounds really good, it was leaking oil but the vavle covers just needed new gaskets and some coolant lines clamps needed some tightening.

Nope I got A super T-10 thats been completely built back up from scratch its a good looking peice of equipment gave 780 for it...while I got the trans out im also replacing the clutch disk, pressure plate, throw out bearings, u joints and ive got a new output yoke. my drive train is gonna be in much better shape. I'll post a video of me running through some gears sometime next week

Re: is this a saginaw?

I ended up using that trans in the pics because I couldn't come up with a super t10 out of a third gen....had to fabricate a mount for the torque arm wasn't to bad though...shifts great I love the trans and the hurst shifter I got
