rear end help
So i finaly got the 383 broke in last night and got to take it for a drive today. My turbo 350 was rebuilt and supposed to have a shift kit installed. I do not feel it shift any harder than before, But and here is the but when it does **** from 1-2 i hear a clunk in the rear end even when it goes to 2-3 but worst on the first shift. could this be why i'm not feeling the shift harder because of the rear being sloppy. Also have a vibration going down the highway at the rear of car. Could this also be a rear problem.
Thanks in advanced.

Nice clean looking 383, What rear diff. do you have? Are your TCA's and panhard bushings in good shape? Are your U-joints good? Lots of questions uh?

Re: rear end help
Probably before i would run it anymore, I would pull the Differential cover off and inspect the bearings, gears, and "C" clips.

Re: rear end help
Well if it lets go, you could lose an axle, which could be catastrophic. If things make noise and create vibrations, then things should be checked out before any more damage is done.

Re: rear end help
ok i'll double check the trans mount.
the only reason I ask about other damage to trans and stuff is becuse i plan on replacing the whole rear.
