Stock Clutch Replacement

Hey guys, I'm in need of a new clutch for my '84 z28; it's the HO model with a manual transmission. I'm just looking for a stock replacement but nothing bottom of the barrel. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was told Hays or Zoom would be good brands to look at. I rarely break the tires free or even race this car around anymore since I'm just trying to keep it running as it is my daily driver, so I'm not looking for any type of crazy performance clutch.

Also, any idea why this Zoom clutch in particular is only $100? This is cheaper than the Duralast one that Autozone offers...

Thanks

I didn't realize that until you mentioned it, pictures and part numbers match up. Still, for $100 I would assume that this may not be the clutch I'd like to go with... seems kinda like a cheapo one.

Re: Stock Clutch Replacement

It's a stock replacement clutch. A stock replacement will work like a stock clutch, maybe even better. I've got a Perfection clutch in my Mustang. It gets plenty of abuse and hasn't slipped yet.

With a relatively stock 305 it's not like you need some kind of super clutch. The T5 can only take so much abuse anyway. If you're just looking to drive it on the street, with an occasional beating, a stock replacement style clutch is what you want.

Good advice. expensive doesn't always mean better. weigh your priorities. (Unless your name happens to be Trump).
