you can see the 7.75 in the back but in person the S60 looks like a giant next to it

Re: Got my S60 today!
That takes the same tq arm as one made for a ford 9" if you haven't come into that yet. The stock one should fit fine, just need to make sure any aftermarket ones work for the ford. Mine has two sets of holes for the bolts on the diff, and I had to use the ones that pull the arm in tighter to the pinion. Looks like you got good housing ends too since 4th gen and I believe s-10/blazer disks will just about bolt on.
Think I got mine with a true track that had 4 spider gears and it ended up being abolute junk, but the detroit locker I have in there now is NICE.
Let me know how well it holds fluid too cause I've tried my cover gasket like 3 times with something different every time and it continues to leak. I might be getting an aluminum cover this winter to see if that'll fix it.

Ok how much and from who? Also does that require a new driveshaft?? Nice piece! This would work well for me since I still have the stock diff out of my Quadrasteer Denali

they are all std in plain steel covers now. unless you upgrade to the aluminum
Im using the stock 3rd gen brakes. with the 10 bolt brackets the offset is the same as what I need and the rotors fit with out any mods.

Re: Got my S60 today!
I have the regular chrome steel cover on mine too. It was good for a while, but after a couple months of having it, it began to drip pretty decently. I didn't think about the stock 3rd gen disks since a lot of people don't have those to begin with.
I needed a new driveshaft, but I did also swap to a th400 at the same time. Chances are you are going to want a new driveshaft anyway since it'll otherwise be a weak link with it being rather small including the u-joints. I could measure the length of mine sometime if you want.

Im wondering if yours leaks because its chrome and as a result of the plating? idk the ones now aren't chrome just plain unpainted (which is what I wanted so I could paint it black) if I ever go aluminum I would most likely get a T/A one mostly to suppourt the company who came out with one fro the 9 bolt
plus from what I have seen they make a darn good one. however I really dont think I will unless I run into a leaking issue like yoursI have the posi but its not a clutch or pinion. I have a t56 so a locker is out of the question and I almost stayed with the spool but I will see alot of street use
the thing that sucks is strange wasnt to install the axle bearings but they did! so i guess they will send new ones this week

Re: Got my S60 today!
i got it from central racing parts , he was the cheapest I found for what I wanted i dont want to post it and tie him to that price but I can say he will do his best to beat any price he can
yep u need a drive shaft but once that shock settles you will see you should anyway if your in need of a diff you need a D/S too just be safe

Re: Got my S60 today!
wanted to show that they fit with no mods so im sure even the older iron ones would fit too! just send them your backing plates and thats it.
No idea why strange says they wouldnt fit. that is why I put off buying one for as long as I did and Im sure a few other people have done the same thing thinking great I can get a good rear but then I have to run drums, convert some ls1 brakes to fit or buy aftermarket brakes $$$$ well heres my proof the stock thirdgen brakes fit using the 10bolt backing plates

Re: Got my S60 today!
Thank You for this post! I have been axle shopping for a while now, and trying to find as much info as possible about my options. This post has been extremely informative.
