Tranny Tran Tran!!! HELP plz

.....Ok so i recently went to an AAMCO shop to get my transmission checked out. my 4th gear im guessing is messed up aswell as 3rd. when u step on it the car accelerates very slow. you wouldnt even notice it's accelerating till after a while. 1st-2nd work fine. even when i shift. but 3rd and 4th are the same. so i went to an aamco shop and the mechanic tested it out. said the fluid was fine. said the car runs strong....BUT that it shifts too early but it also doesnt down shift. he also said that the peddal being loose the way it is when you step on it is normal for cars like mine (which i dnt believe) i have an 87 camaro. 11,000 miles on the motor. its an automatic tranny but im guessing the tranny is all stock and never been fixd up. they said i would have to rebuild the tranny to fix the problem. would cost $2,000. Any one have any input that would please help me in my dilema or anyone been in this situation or car prob.....im confused.

Re: Tranny Tran Tran!!! HELP plz

For 2k you could have a pretty much bulletproof trans IMHO!Unless you have that kind of cash, shop around and ask a lot of questions.Find someone who is well known at being good at building a performance trans.Dont just take someones word that they can build it.

Get a 2nd a 3rd opinion as well.

Re: Tranny Tran Tran!!! HELP plz

For 2K you could get a new 700Raptor.. Sounds like a typical transmission place..
