I swapped my motor now the trans shifts horrible. shifts to early at like 1700 rpm and shifts hard. I can not find the problem checked all the connections. Someone thought it might be a vaccum line to the Trans but i dont remember pulling off a vaccum line is there one and where would it be. It is a 1989 700r4 trans from a GTA with the 5.7 in it. i put the same motor in just less miles. Any help is great.

 

It is almost a guarantee that it is your throttle valve cable that is not adjusted correctly. This will toast your tranny in short time. If you have a manual it should tell you in there how to adjust it. I just removed and rebuilt the motor in my z28 and I actually went by a tranny shop and got some info on it because we burned up a 700r4 in another z28 because of an incorrectly adjusted tv cable. There is no vacuum line on a 700r4.
