hyd TOB on borge warner T5 trans???

im wanting to install a hyd tob on my t5 transmission in my 83 z28 camaro, but i dont know which one to get or go with i have be doin some researching and i had come across 2 setups one is just a tob and the other is a complete kit with m/c, no can i use a factory m/c with a hyd tob or should i just spend the money and get the full kit. also ill be using a Mc Leod Sfi bell housing for the 82-83 camaro.

which would be best to do.

thanks.

I am guessing you have the mechanical linkage clutch setup. I just converted my 83 to a 5spd, but I went with a later model 87 tranny. I took the clutch pedals out of an 84 camaro and used a hydro slave setup out of the 87.

Your pedals wont work if you do it that way, you will need to get the later 84 and up pedals.

I dont know about the hydro throwout bearing setup.

P/O already swapped out the pedals on my car he was goin to use 4th gen hyd system on the car with a 6 spd swap but never got around to it and he never gave me the 4th gen hyd system, i got the m/c and everything mounted and pedals installed in the car so im all good there, ill be using a t5 out of a 87 trans am.

Re: hyd TOB on borge warner T5 trans???

Because it's easier to service the hydraulics, I'd use the 84-92 bellhousing and the 93-97 master / slave (braided line; master and slave are the same sizes)

Having to pull a trans. to replace a slave cylinder is a disadvantage of using a hyd. TO brg.

I have a McLeod HTO bearing for a T5 that I am removing from my car. If you really want to switch to a HTO I would make you an extremely good deal on it.
