Can't put car in gear
Okay, so here's what happend. I decided to wash my car yesterday, and when I was done, I wanted to take it out and show it off a bit. Well I backed out of the driveway and shifted into first and let my foot off the clutch, I then proceeded to put it into second, only it did not go in. I then tried to put it back into first and it wouldn't go. I can no longer shift into any gear. I've inspected both the master and the slave cylinders for the clutch and have replaced the slave cylinder thinking this might be the culprit (with as worn as it looked). Unfortunately the car does the same thing. Everything seems to function up to and including the fork that moves the clutch, and even the clutch fork seems to be in the right place. I'm all out of ideas. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!
Here's a video of what happens when I push in the clutch...

also attached are pictures of the slave cylinder and the clutch fork that goes into the transmission

Re: Can't put car in gear
I'm pretty sure the slave cylinder is traveling it's full distance when I apply the clutch. And yes, when the engine is off, I am able to put the car in gear, but it feels the same whether I apply the clutch or not.
Re: Can't put car in gear
Put the car in gear (engine off), have someone push in the clutch. Try to push the car either forward or backwards. If the clutch is releasing you should be able to do it fairly easily.
It sounds like your master cylinder may have given up. Or you may have not gotten all the fluid out of the system when you put the new slave on.

Re: Can't put car in gear
Sounds like it's time to pop the trans out and see what's fornicated.
The clutch is ruined somehow. Either the diaphragm is broken, the trans pilot is welded to the pilot bushing, or some such.
Posting on here about it probably won't get you any closer to a fix. Time to turn some bolts.
Since it only takes about 20 minutes to pull a T-5 out of one of these cars, then in the time it takes to make a new post telling me some story about some excuse you have about why you don't want to do it, you could already have it done and all your questions answered.
Just man up to it and do it.

If not, your description sure sounds like a hydraulic issue (master and slave)
I always replace BOTH on all of my manny trannys when I run into that issue.

Re: Can't put car in gear
Master/ Slave cylinders have been replaced. Is it possible to move the transmission from the bellhousing while it's still on the car, and then remove the bellhousing to get to the clutch assembly?
