Okay this is what I have. 1985 Camaro z/28 with 350 TPI w/ errson cam. valves opens @.465 TDC.
Shops says I have about 315hp and 415trq. I semi drag when I feel like it but mostly just cruise since it is my DD

So my question is. I have (or at least I am pretty sure as can be without removing the cover) a 3:42 open differential.

I want to put in a posi/LSD. Now I can keep my 3:42 and by an eaton posi or I have access to a 3:08 posi.

What would be the loss I would experience with dropping down to a 3:08 posi from my 3:42 open? would I loose a lot of my acceleration? or would it only be semi noticeable. Also what could be the benefits of dropping down.
