T5 electric speedo to mechanical question

I just bought a t5 swap kit for my 85 iroc and just realized that the t5 has a electric vss but my car has a mechanical speedo cable. How do I fix this issue without buying a new speedo?

Re: T5 electric speedo to mechanical question

A. Remove electric sending unit from new trans.

B. Remove cable gear holder "bullet" from old trans.

C. Place Part B into Assembly A.

What year tranny? I need a vss from a 91-92. My current t-5 is from a 84 or 85. Maybe we could trade parts?

Re: T5 electric speedo to mechanical question

Incidentally, you can probably sell that electronic one for MUCHO $$$$$. They're not very common, and demand is MUCH higher than supply.

There is a range of TH350 Chevy stuff with the same bullet diameter as the T5, but the gears are different.
Third gen T5 had smaller diameter driven gear, with 22 tooth max, and a large dia. drive gear.
TH350 stuff had larger dia. driven gear, max of 24 or 25 tooth, and a smaller dia. drive gear.

If you get matched gears, cool. If you try to use a T5 gear with a tH350 gear, nope.
