trans leaking from linkrod in side of trans

my transmission is leaking fluid from the side where the rod goes in can i repair it without droppping trans? is there a gasket or something ?

If this is an auto trans, then I'm going to assume you're talking about the shift lever seal...

You have to remove the shift lever to change the seal, which has to be done from the inside. You can drop the pan and get to it.
