Okay, for now you need to get back to your original adjustment, so you don't hurt the trans.
Then the next thing to check is the governor. This is easier if you pop the dizzy cap, then drop the rear of the transmission a couple of inches.

Re: WOT problem need help

ok so how do i get it back to the original adjustment? i don have the things needed to drop the trans. but isnt a governor just to limit the top speed because i know a alot of cars that people just remove the governor. i dont know if this is related but my car also auto revs a little bit. but i dont know how to get the tv cable back to the original adjustment, do i move it little back or pull it a lil forwads

Re: WOT problem need help

When you adjust the TV cable, you let the TB pull the cable out of it's sheath as it goes to WOT. To soften the shifts, pull it another 1/8" and try that.
Now, the governor: On a 700R-4, it has nothing to do with the top speed of the car. It's there to make the wOT upshifts happen. The weights and springs, against the line pressure of the ATF, determine the speeds at which the wOT upshifts happen. For an LG4, the HP peaks at 4000 rpm. For an L69, it's 4800. So how to make the difference? the governor.

Re: WOT problem need help

i pulled it out a little and that helped the part throttle shifts a little but still feels messed up. the WOT still does not shift. so does this mean governor? i have no way to check the Governor and dont know how either. would there be anything else that could cause it not to shift at WOT? please help and respond if you can thanks
