Axle/Gears: 3.42
WILL PLASTIC DRIVEN GEAR WORK??

Hello again,ok so im trying to get my speedo working properly.read the sticky with t5 driven gear info with colors and part numbers.ordered the part number that matched my gear ratio from local dealership.went and picked up part today,its plastic and my original one is metal shaft.will the plastic gear work??read a few threads but couldnt find a yes or no answer>thanks

Everythings made of plastic thes days....If it is the correct one it will work. I thought they alway were plastic material.

The 20 and 21 tooth gears with steel shaft are discontinued or really short supply.
You might be able to find 18, 19 or 22 steel shaft gears.

The plastic ones work fine; just make sure the shaft fits the sleeve correctly (the outer seal will need to meet a solid part of the plastic gear shaft.)
