700r4 lockup question

Ok so I now have my 383 HSR being built and I was looking at the new Holley HP efi http://www.holley.com/550-601.asp to control everything when I realized that I dont think the HP controls TC lockup. Now im stuck on what to do because I dont have any of the OEM ecm or harness as I sold everything for cash for build parts. I also checked out the Dominator from Holley http://www.holley.com/554-114.asp and it states that it has TC control but it also cost two hundred more and without the harness/sensors included, and it looks alittle to much for what I need. So my question is do I need lockup? can I just but a TC that is nonlockup? or is there something out there that I can use to control the lockup outside of using a ecu? Any help would be great.

Re: 700r4 lockup question

At what point when im driving do I know when to control the lockup? Is it something I will feel in the car when driving or do I just hope its doing its job when I set it? Ill be running a 3000 stall if it matters.

85 T700 needs lockup because you only get full fluid flow to trans cooler when lockup engaged.

Can do mods inside trans to give auto lockup as soon as trans goes into 4th gear.
Nothing to think about when driving

Re: 700r4 lockup question

Go with the Painless setup. It will offer 3rd & 4th lockup at part throttle and unlocks when going to WOT. It is very complete and comes with the brake release setup. It is trouble free.
