Newbie needs help. Did I get the wrong bellhousing for my ls3 t56 magnum swap?
I use to really be in to cars back in the 60's but got totally out of them years ago. I am now back in and have a question. I have an ls3 engine going in my 91 Camaro with a t56 magnum tranny. I got a bellhousing from Tick Performance that arrived today. I was expecting something totally different. It's only about 3 inches deep. Can someone tell me what the heck this is or is this correct. Looks too shallow for the clutch to go in to. Thanks in advance.

Yep, those T56 bellhousings are shallower due to the front case plate design of the T56.
The adapter plate was in regard to SBC; you were talking about a RamJet at the time.
I think the best think to do would be to bolt some parts together and get to measuring. The LS2/LS7 clutch and flywheel with an LS style front end-setup T56 behind an LS engine is a known quantity and works.

You have a $5000+ motor, a $3000 trans, and you protect them and your legs with a $200 stock bellhousing..

I looked at the RM-8020 scattershield but spent all my money on the engine and tranny

it's an ls376 so about $6500.00 on engine. Can you spell dumb ***.
