If a 700R4 was dropped off to get a stock rebuild, what would be the cost for parts and labor?

 

I had this done back in February for my 700r4 and it came in a hair under two grand. I can give you a more specific number, but I'd have to sort through all of the receipts I've got locked up for my car.

Edit: I was a little off! Don't worry, in a good way.

I paid $1,241 for the rebuild. That was at a locally owned and run shop.

 

Dont get a "stock" rebuild. Pay 4 some upgrades, you will be glad you did.

 

I rebuilt my 700-r4 myself for $350.00. That was with a full rebuild kit with alto clutches and steels, kevlar band, trans-go jr. shift kit, corvette servo, replacement valve body, new lockup solenoid, and The Beast heavy duty sun-shell.

 

I recall getting a quote once for aamco or some transmission shop with a name something like that once, and believe it to have been $1200, most of the money is in the labor. If you were to do it yourself, you could get a performance rebuild kit for $400-700, and build it to handle a lot more power and shift harder. Course you would have to know what you were doing and get some specialty tools most likely.

1000-1200 dollars, I'd call Pro-built or Trans-Go and get a kit w/upgrades, it'd be worth the extra $, have your builder look into it....

 

I did mine and was able to pickup a COMPLETE rebuild kit (to stock) for $200

 

Yeah, I'll probably rebuild mine myself. I just wanted to know what most people were spending on parts and labor.
