I need your vote between these 2 converters

ok, ive sent spec sheets to both edge racing and precision industries for a custom built torque converter. both recommend almost identical stall speeds and both have been great customer service so far. this is what i need for you guys. which company gets your vote and WHY please. so, Precision Industries Vigilante 9.5" or Edge Racing Pro Edge 9.5" ???

Its your choice. I had similar choices but went with a Yank. I still would of gone with the Yank to this day but I hear nothing but good things from Edge from Ls1tech and Vigilante is well known that everyone knows their quality.

Go with Vigilante if you are stuck between the two. If you want to switch to try the edge you can unload that vigilante in a second.

The only negative comment I've ever heard about vigillante is the price lol. The people on this board who have them all seem to worship them like a god.

the price difference between the two is like ~$30 so thats not really an issue. so looks like its leaning towards a vigilante so far?? i need some more ppl to chime in.

Just go with Vigil. A better place to go would be Ls1tech since they are bound to have alot more people going with these brands.

95% of people on here would rather buy a B&M and save $300+. Sad really.

i actually have a b&m stall in it now and it is absolute junk. i love their transmission parts but i will never buy one of their converters. (the car came with this stall when i bought it). id rather spend the extra money and do it right the first time.

Re: I need your vote between these 2 converters

With converters, you really do get what you pay for. Without cutting them open, you'll never know just how good or bad a converter can really be. Buying from a top brand name or a performance only brand is the best and normally you stay away from the off the shelf converters for a real performance application. A converter builder's reputation can travel quickly across the net if they sell overpriced junk.

My 8" race converter is worth around $1200 and I know the internal parts are not a bunch of OEM components.

From either of those, it's a coin flip. There's probably good and bad things about both.

My race converter is from TCS in Langley BC
