WCT5 replacement??
its been a while guys..question..can i replace my 91' WCT5 with a Borg Warner out of an 85' Z28? its for $200 and the guy says its in good condition. mines is almost shot. ive also ran across a couple t5's out of v6 cars and read that it would work if you reuse the belt housing and all but that doesnt even sound like a good idea to me.

Yes the 85 box will bolt right up.
A 6-cyl one will not. Problem isn't the bell housing, it's the clutch.
In what way is yours "almost shot"? You may well have a clutch problem anyway, and not a trans problem at all. That's usually the case.

Re: WCT5 replacement??
the trans wasnt in the best of shape when i got it.the previous owner rode both, motor and transmission, very hard. it whines, slips out of gears, cannot downshift to 3rd or 1st and its hard to push into 5th. and shifting into 3rd is always a coin toss on how it will act. plus, its what i learned to drive on so the clutch isnt perfect either.
