9 bolt bearings and such - available local yet?
Are the parts needed for gear changing available locally yet? Bearings, seals, shims, etc.
Been looking but all I see listed is 10 bolts and a sign "this will fit your 89 IROC"
Yea ok.
Thanks for the replys. If i have to order everything i'll just start looking for a different rear. I also have a 10 bolt 2.77 open but will cost more than the 9 bolt as I have 2 posi 9 bolts one with 3.23s which is what I want. The one with 3.23 was modified by someone for a mid70s leaf spring or I would just change the whole rear out.

Carrier/pinion bearings should all available locally. Just pull em out and get the part numbers off of the bearings and races and go to the parts store. I dont know about axle bearings, though.
Pinion shims are interchangable with Ford 7.25"
Carrier shims are a unique size to the 9-bolt.
Ratech is a good retailer, I've bought several things from them, always been very happy with what I got.

Re: 9 bolt bearings and such - available local yet?
I don't mind ordering parts that don't wear out like fenders, etc. I just like local sources for wear parts. Not that diff bearings go out that often. Also I have bought many parts that didn't fit when I got home with it, so...
Matter of fact I just got a coil in for a pocket bike an hour ago - DOA. Since I ordered it now its send it back and wait. I'll just throw it away most likely and try to buy one locally.
I'll check on the bearings locally. Don't mind ordering the shims as they don't wear out. And I have no doubt I'd get the correct parts from a company that specializes.
Fact is I wanted to do this tomorrow since the family will be out of town. Tired of the T5 with 2.77s
Thanks.

May have found a rear out of a 1986 V6. Depends on how much they want for it. It should have 3.42 which I'd rather have than 3.23.
