Re: 96 t56 removal

Sounds like the input shaft is hanging up on the clutch disc. Maybe the splines on the shaft are worn. You could try wiggling the output shaft while pulling. Or you need to pull the clutch fork off of the throwout bearing.

Re: 96 t56 removal

The swap was very simple, almost a straight bolt on. You will need:
-LT1 T56 with factory clutch, belhousing, and slave/master cylinder -Centerforce 700173 flywheel
-American Touring Specialties clutch master firewall bracket
-G-Force '75-'81 Camaro T56 cross member. (or custom cross member)
-Custom driveshaft
-Pedals out of a 4-speed camaro
-You will need an electric speedo with this tranny (I chose Autometer)
-Speed sensor, reverse lockout, and backup light harness from Ebay

this is what i found i need do i need the wiring harnes or just the conetors? cant find the harness

Re: 96 t56 removal

Push the trans. back to the bellhousing.

Grab on the fork with pliers. Yank harder this time.

If the outer end of the fork fits within the fork pocket of the bellhousing, then it's not out yet.
