newbie 700r4 question
i just got a 88 trans am last week and notice that my car shifts great in all gears if i stay under 2500 rpms. if i get closer to 3000 rpms it will slip a little. the harder i drive it around 3000 rpms the worse it slips. anyone have any idea what the problem is? thanks

I don't think it would cause the tranny to slip, but too much fluid is just as bad as too little.

Re: newbie 700r4 question
you can add some luca but just make sure you dont overfill it after u top it off with tranny fluid and i say go with some mid-grade trans fluid like autozone brand or any like that and if it works just fine change it out 2 mobil1 the next 4-5 months and try craiglist.org i always fine cheap good working parts on there

Re: newbie 700r4 question
Over here they'll charge you upwards of $850 for a 700r4 rebuild, maybe you can get a used one in trade for the one you've got and pay a lower price but I find deals on Craigslist every now and then like for example I just found a guy selling his 305 motor & his 700r4 trans for $600 both run fine.
