top right bell housing bolt, how do i remove?

top right bell housing bolt is the only thing holding this tranny on(and a couple of jacks) i cant get enough room to break it free, do i need a 2 ft extension or should just use power tools??

ive tried everything i can from as many extension as i can, to getting it from the top. which may be my only option just take off motor mount and drop 2-3 inches and i can take it out easy enough

the bolt im talking about is top right 14mm bell hosing bolt..

please any help is appreciated, right now im thinking of impact gun with a bunch of extensions

wobble socket and 2' extension, or wrench from the top.

wrench from the top

Also, if this is V8, those bolts are actually 9/16"; which even though 14mm is not the "right" size (it's smaller) it usually fits.

If it's a 6-cyl I haven't the vaguest clue what size they are.

I have used the wrench from the top method and believe this is your best bet.

Pull the dizzy, then get a 14mm combo, but the closed end on that bolt, then put the box end of your next larger wrench over the open end of the 14 mm. This will give enough leverage for most guys.

a 14mm ratcheting wrench is your best friend when it comes to tranny bolts.

You found one that doesn't explode the first time you put 5 ft-lbs on it?

snap on takes some decent abuse for their ratchet wrenches.

I have 2 sets that have been abused and misused for years now and never hade a problem.

For rhe OP, a really long extension, a wobble and the right socket will work just fine from below. You can lower the back.of the trans a little and you will have more room. Just be careful you don't break the dizzy cap on the firewall.

After doing it many times, I much prefer doing it from the bottom. You need about 2ft of extensions and a wobble. It also helps to lower the back of the trans a little.

I agree on the ratcheting wrenches. Easily the best tools I have bought over the basic set. I have had my Gearwrench ones for about 5 years and never had a problem with them. I have even whacked them with a mini sledge a few times and still no issues.
