Input drum wont go in enough

Car: 1986 Firebird Trans Am
Engine: Chevy 355
Transmission: Built 700R4
Axle/Gears: 9 bolt 2.77
Input drum wont go in enough
I'm doing a rebuild of my 700r4 and I can't get my input drum/reverse drum assembly to go far enough into the case to have enough clearance for the oil pump. The drum is getting caught up on the last two clutches, I can't seem to get it to align on them. Any pointers?
