I was thinking about getting the B&M console megashifter for my camaro. My current shifter is in bad shape, and I wanted to upgrade to a slap shifter anyway if i didn't have a manual. Does anyone have one of these in their camaro? Any thoughts on it? Right now my trans shifts at like 4000. Way too early and I can't shift into 1 manualy due to the shape of the stock setup. I want to shift at 5500 or so and I figure a slap shifter would help with that. I would appreciate any thoughts on this subject as I don't have a lot of money and want to spend it the best possible way. Car is a 1986 Iroc with a 350 out of a 2000 cadillac escalade, converted to carb. The trans is the stock 86??? I have no clue but its a 27 spline. It might have work done, maybe not.

 

I just installed mine today and I love it. Gives you that awesome feel ratcheting through the gears. Really isnt all too hard to install either.

 

@irocz281986 thanks for the input, ive always wanted one and I think it will help my car out due to the stock shifter being a POC. right now its just a stick with the white part sticking out the top. Kinda hurts my finger lol it will be cool to shift at 5000 wot!!! right now my car shifts at like 4000 so boring. Ill post pics of the install, maybe i can make a tech install and be famous lol

well i just ran into some cash so I think im gonna buy it this weekend

 

i have had one for years but it isn't going to help you shift at a higher rpm.

 

@87zjeff - it kinda will to my stock shifter being in such bad shape that i can only pick drive or overdrive so im at the mercy of my stock governer. With the new shifter i can at least pick my own gears and when i want to change them. plus it will be nice not to have a broke POC for a shifter lol

 

Can Anyone Please Help Explain How To Adjust The Part Of The Cable That Connects To The Shifter Itself? I Heard They Have To Be Right On The Money Or It Won't Shift Right
