Axle/Gears: 383
TH700R4 reverse SLAM

rebuilt TH400R4 30k miles slams hard like its about to rip off from the car...any suggestions? all else is good besides sometimes it floats from 2nd to 3rd and will tach out at WOT on OD from 3rd to 4th w/o gaining speed >.< will work fine in D tho

Check fluid level & color.
If it's still red and doesn't smell " burnt " I would get a trans filter kit--
Filter & pan gasket and pull the pan looking for obvious signs of gear shavings in the pan.

If its good, replace the filter since it only takes a few minutes anyway.
Top off the fluid level.

At least you would know if its on a path of self destruction.

Do you forget the reverse check ball in the case.
