Re: t56 swap

Hey guys I'm in the middle of one right now. What did you do about the pedals. I have a brand new fourth gen master /slave set up. I got it bolted up but the master eye hole doesn't seem to fit my third gen pedals ( little nub thing my old master hooked on to
Thanks in advance

I do believe you need a 4th gen pedal assembly, I was already 5 speed...

Re: t56 swap

Ya I've read both can work and also of people cutting and threading their master. Seems like it should fit length wise but it just won't get on there. Before I start grinding and drilling I thought I'd ask what you Guys did

You just need to ream out the bushing, a dremel or die grinder will make quick work of it.

I used a fourth gen master and 3rd gen pedals (There ARE benefits to 3rd gen pedals) so I know what you're talkinga bout. If you decide to make your master cylinder adjustable, you can use a t5 master cylinder rod eyelet and mate that to the T56 master. Problem solved and it even looks very nice.

What I did though, was I got a T5/thirdgen pedal bushing, and I trimmed it up to just float inside the eyelet. Not really as pretty as I would have hoped since it attaches so much differently, I had to really mangle it, but it's in there now and the clip along with the eyelet itself keeps it captive inside there and it does what it needs to do - it takes up the extra slack and offers a plastic bushing/cushion to the assembly. They're cheap, so go buy one and just trim the "clips" on it, because they're no longer useful, and use it just as a captive bushing, similar to the way the T56 bushings were to begin with.

Or you could drill it out, but I didnt have much luck trying that. I cant remember exactly why, but I think it just disintegrated on me and fell apart.

Re: t56 swap

Wait, do you mean where the end of the pushrod goes onto the pedal, or the U bolt that holds the master to the firewall ?
