Leaky 700R4
So after searching I read that a front torque converter seal wont leak when sitting, but will when running since its a pressure seal. The trans doesn't leak with the motor running, or in gear. At least nothing noticeable or that I can see while hanging my head out the car. After I shut the car off I took a peeked under the car. I could see the transmission fluid rolling down the torque converter.
Does this sound like a leaky front seal?

Most of the time its the front pump bushing that's worn

So might as well replace that too? Pretty straight forward as far as replacing it? Ordered up a new dipstick grommet, as well as a tv cable grommet. Might as well replace them while I have the trans out. Trans will be out Sunday.

Removing the transmission is allot easier when the top two bolts are missing. Guess the previous owner didn't think they were that important. Gonna clean it up and look at it tomorrow.

Retainer clip and pump seal looked good. Inspected the front pump bushing and it looks trashed. Having it replaced tomorrow. Ive also got a new converter going in and was wondering if the gears moving around inside is normal? I'm wondering if the trans has been worked on before. Can anyone tell from these pics?

That silicone on the pump bolts is a sure sign that someone's been inside that transmission. 
It's hard to tell from your photos, but it looks like the front half of your pump is fubar too. Are those areas of broken off chunks?

In IMG_8025, it looks like the pump drain back passage was enlarged. Doing this is in the instruction sheet for Trans-Go shift kits.
Staring at the photos for a while, I'd say at least the pump has been worked over. Perhaps someone has installed a shift kit at one time.

in my old trans am I suffered from random 700r4 leaks. when i say random, i mean maybe once every 3-4 weeks when driving the car almost daily. turned out to be the dipstick grommet. changed that and all was well.
